I'm trying to set up auto logins to my KeePass password protected accounts. I'm a novice who has read the KeePass auto login help pages here and in KeePass, but something is not working right on Hotmail.

The program auto-fills my user name there correctly, but not the password field. Perhaps that is because Microsoft transfers you to a second page to enter the password.

And in this instance, Microsoft instead of going to the password page jumps to Outlook and asks you to create a new Outlook account. That does not happen when I log in to Microsoft manually.

So, does anyone here use Hotmail and the auto login feature KeePass v.1 and know how to make it work?

Anyone with any other ideas or suggestions (other than don't use hotmail or microsoft as that's not an option).

    Thanks.

Okay, we are half way there. I tried to use the auto-login feature in KeePass v1 to auto-login to a different website that has the user name and password fields on the same page. There it worked fine. That's good.

Now, how best to deal with sites like Microsoft that jump from one page to the other as part of the login process?

There are multiple solutions for two-step logins, see

    Thank you.

That FAQ suggests creating additional auto-type command strings depending on the layout of various website you want to use auto-type to log-in with. So...

How do I create two or three different auto-type command strings for different websites, and how do you switch from one to the other depending on which command string you need?

In V1 you need to add an extra entry with the AT details for the second page.

Right click on the entry you use.
    Select Duplicate Entry.
Edit the duplicate and replace the username and password with references to the original entry values. Click the Tools button and select Insert Field Reference.
Add / change the Auto-Type sequence to suit the second login page.
Rename the duplicate to reflect the fact that it is a referred entry for AT only.

Now you need to edit the original entry and adjust the AT sequence to suit the first page of the login.

    cheers, Paul

    Thank you, Paul.

Not asking you to create one, but is there a link to a webpage that illustrates with images what you have stated needs to be done?

If so, would you post it?

    No there isn't.
I'll do a couple of shots for you if you can provide the login page details, including window title.

    cheers, Paul
