I was wondering if there are any problems associated with renaming the KeePass file to something like temp.tmp. This may be overkill but my reason for doing this is so it wouldn't be obvious that the file is a KeePass file. I used "Save As" in KeePass and the .tmp file seems to be working fine. Are there any issues with this? Thanks.

Though the name of the file may be OK (technically speaking), make sure that you (or someone else accessing that PC) do not use a secure file delete utility to clear your disk of temporary files. Setting it (either by its default option or inadvertently) to include *.tmp files could have disastrous consequences and you might say good-bye to your long time and scrupulously configured KeePass datafile forever, unless you have some backup somewhere. My advice - do not play with this extension, it's destined to include temporary data.

If you mean the database file then any name is OK. You just have to open it manually, via a command line maybe?
cheers, Paul
