To avoid copy/paste from browser, it would be great to have a feature to easily add a passord entry from the browser.
It seems that a magnet link should be appropriated (like bittorent does). The main problem is how to set the category of the new password entry ? Maybe it needs a dialog window to choose the category before showing the new entry window (containing the filled infos)
Thanks to think of this.

WebAutoType allows you to define a global hotkey to create a new entry from the current page in your browser. For setting the category, it doesn't ask you each time - you set the category for it to add to in the WebAutoType options.

About Keefox, in my mind it's clearly too dangerous.
WebAutotype is very restricted, and designed to capture password from web page.
Finaly there is no easily (and quick) way to import password from a web page (like bittorent does with magnet links) with all the info (name, user, pass, url, and note at least).

KeePass does not provide the quick import you require. This is because KeePass would have to know how to access that information from browsers and KeePass is designed to be program independent.
The solution is to create the entry in KeePass, then drag n drop to the web page.

The browser does not create any magnet link, it got it from the web page, and open an application with it (in our case, it should be keepass). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnet_URI_scheme
So a web page could generate a magnet link which define password entry, and the user just have to click on this magnet link to insert the password entry in his keepass db.
So finaly the user does not have to:
copy-paste the username to keepass
copy-paste the password
copy-paste the website
enter title of the entry
even more like enter a description, set the icon...etc

I rarely use KeePass as you describe. I create the entry in KeePass with my preferred user name etc, then drag n drop / Auto-Type those into the program. Much easier than relying on extra features in the program / KeePass.

have a look at keyfox or simular plugins for browsers
KeePass doesn't have a link to browser passwords, but it can import them after you have exported them from your browser.

I'm talking about import password FROM browser TO Keepass. NOT from Keepass to browser.
Which browser can create such magnet links that you mentioned? Are there browser extensions that create magnet links from form data?
Best regards,
Dominik
