The problem was first described in https://sourceforge.net/projects/keepass/forums/forum/329221/topic/3779255
When vSphere Client is open (does not matter if in console, or another view, maximized or minimized) Auto-Type stops working. But only if i open a connection to a virtual machine. If i close the vsphere client auto-type is working fine.
WinXP Pro SP2
Keepass 2.16
vSphere Client 4.0.0
with version 2.09 portable it works.
So it's not a bug in KeePass as there is no difference between the portable and installed versions - try copying the EXE file back and forth between them.
cheers, Paul
Hi Paul,
thanks for your reply. I think it is a misunderstanding.
it works with the installer and the protable version of 2.09.
It is not working with the installer and the portable version of 2.16

This is still a problem in 2.17. However, version 2.09 still works without a problem. Very frustrating problem in a very useful and otherwise awesome program!

Yes i can confirm this - problem is still the same in 2.17. No Auto-type working with vmware vsphere client.
Please can someone of the developers look at this problem?
It will be a vmware problem, not a KeePass one. Try the RCDAutoType plug-in.
cheers, Paul
Hi Paul,
hm... i dont think so. why is version 2.09 working fine with vmware and version 2.16/2.17 is not workding with vmware. i dont changed anything on vmware. RCDAutoType is not working for me, i tried this workaround too.
It would be great if you can find any solution.
Stick to V2.09 if it works.
See the change log for details on what has changed between versions.
cheers, Paul
Apparently VMware has fixed the bug.
