KeePass is not reading HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\StartMenuInternet
2.61.1 (x64)
I removed Internet Explorer and tried to add DDG Browser.
I confirmed HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\StartMenuInternet (attached).
I restarted KeePass.
The URL menu is unchanged (attached).

That snapshot seems to have the same behavior. I tested it with a new db.

The environment variable
%LOCALAPPDATA%is user-specific, not machine-specific. Therefore, you should add your registration inHKEY_CURRENT_USER, not inHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.However, the main problem here is something else: you have specified an environment variable in the path and the type of the value is
REG_SZ. In the case ofREG_SZ, the environment variable is not expanded, and consequently KeePass cannot findDuckDuckGo.exe(and therefore shows no menu commands for it). You could fix this by specifying a full path without an environment variable. Alternatively, change the type of the value fromREG_SZtoREG_EXPAND_SZ(this causes the environment variable to be expanded, resulting in a valid path for the current user); you can do this for example by running the following inCmd.exe:Reg.exe Add "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Clients\StartMenuInternet\DUCKDUCKGO.EXE\shell\open\command" /ve /t REG_EXPAND_SZ /d ^%LOCALAPPDATA^%\Microsoft\WindowsApps\DuckDuckGo.exe(for other shells, you may need to adjust how the percent signs are escaped).
