#1896 Deleted custom icons reappear after database synchronization

1. Create database1.kdbx.
2. Add two icons (icon1, icon2) in the icon picker dialog.
3. Save
4. Save as database2.kdbx
5. Remove icon2 (icon picker)
6. Save
7. Synchronize with database1.kdbx

Actual result:
The previously deleted icon2 reappears in the list of embedded icons.

Expected result:
The deletion of icon2 should be synchronized across databases.

In this thread Dominik mentions that this behaviour is expected, so this is a feature request and not a bug.

BTW: deleting unused icons, as suggested by Paul, has no different effect than manually deleting them like in my minimal example (that was what I tried first).
