Global auto-type preview reads "Ctrl + Alt + None" when pressing Ctrl + Alt + A, at least on Windows 10. Other letter keys like 'S' or 'D' don't have this problem.

Actually using Ctrl + Alt + A works on some computers and not others. For the most troublesome PC the left alt does not work in that combination while the right alt does. And using combos like Ctrl+Alt+S does work with that system's left-alt. Using separate USB keyboards does not help.

If you can't assign Ctl+Alt+A, the keystroke sequence is already in use.

So the "fails on some PCs" was actually due to a hardware bug on a particular keyboard. Please disregard that since I cannot edit the ticket.

If the already-in-use explains the preview confusion then I'd like to suggest the preview recognize its own assignment and still show the 'A' in that case. And when there is a conflict with other programs then ideally it would have a message explaining that the combo is already taken.

Regardless, thanks for taking the time to respond.

KeePass already show a brief message if it cannot assign hot keys.

I've added this now; the hot key controls in the options dialog now support entering hot keys that are already registered by KeePass.

Here's the latest development snapshot for testing:

    Thanks and best regards,
