KeePass does not automatically lock after inactivity when a dialog is open
A lightweight and easy-to-use password manager

Whenever a dialog box is open, KeePass will not automatically lock itself after the time defined in the Security options.
This appears to be a security flaw, especially given that this caveat is not disclosed to the user. A help page gives reasoning for when this occurs when Windows locks the user account, but not in general (and few ever see that help page, anyway).
One solution might be to have it on by default and an option to turn this functionality off. When this functionality is enabled, it should be suggested that auto-save remain on.
Thank you for everything you do - this piece of software is absolutely essential.
This is the intended behavior and not a bug. For an explanation see https://keepass.info/help/base/faq_tech.html#noautolock
As the Technical FAQ tries to explain, there's no good answer to what to do in this situation; any action is likely to result in loss of data, therefore no action is taken (other than to try to discourage users from leaving dialogs open and unattended).
I've updated the documentation to cover all automatic locking options (the arguments are the same for all of them).

Thanks and best regards,

That is nice and clear, but it won't stop the complaints. :(
