Actually I'm running XFree864.0.1 with the ibm 1.3 jdk. Not being an
X guru I'm not entirely sure what font packages I have. What I do know
is that if I use fractional font metrics the cursor becomes displaces and
does not match up to the text properly. Funnily enough, using the
sun1.3 jdk the fonts are also improved, especially the italic ones.

Anyway, judging from most of the comments, I think the upshot is that
the plugin is not ready to go into the core download yet ;)
