I have no keyboard problems with 2.6pre3 with a German keyboard. All keys work fine, AltGr, Umlauts etc. At work, where two input locales are defined, I have to use Alt-Shift to switch from EN to DE for every window, but this a JDK 1.3 bug. I remember having a problem with square and curling brackets (need AltGr for them) which was due to the fact that some short cuts where assigned to them. Removing / changing the shortcuts did fix this. So I would advise to check the shortcuts and remove all which use keys which can only be accessed with AltGr. >> - Also, the accents aren't saved correctly nor read correctly from and >> already saved file, i mean, created with another program (for example >> the old version of jedit). This is one of the really nice features of jEdit. You can even use it to convert files from one code page to another. Load the file with the correct setting, change the setting and save the file. Works great for example to change DOS (ASCII) files to Windows (ANSI) format. With English this makes no big difference but if there a characters > 127 in the file (umlauts, accents, etc.) this is really useful. >> I also want to encourage slava and all the people envolved in jedit >> because i think the do a great work. > Dito.!
