>I suggest we enforce x.y.z format. This is the standard with Java >versioning anyway. I would also enforce a naming format for plugins. When I knocked together AboutPlugins the majority of my time was taken in handling the non-conventional naming of some of the plugins. This can graphically be seen in, e.g.. InfoViewer in jEdit 2.2.1, or the Help->About menu on 2.3pre3. Some of the installed plugins are just ignored and don't appear on the list. For example, JavaInsight. Enforcing a naming convention will make life easier in the future..
