[ jEdit-users ] regular expression to change first character

[e-letter <in...@gm...>]

Readers,

For a buffer of text:

abc
def
ghi

The objective is to change to:

Abc
Def
Ghi

The attempted regular expression:

^\w{1}

selected the first word. How to edit the regular expression to select
the first character only then change only the first character to upper
case?
