If you are talking about widgets and not the text area, simply turn off
Windows ClearType and see if that makes a difference. I have found that
most Java controls look really bad when ClearType is enabled. This also
depends on your video driver.

As for the text area, I know of problems that can happen after the screen
resolution has changed (which I am pretty sure is a JVM bug), but those go
away if you relaunch jEdit.
