Hello, Thanks Dale for the reply. I am sorry I wasn't clear, but I can't use the classic hold Shift method because I want to be able to combine the selection with shortcut keys for movement, such as Ctrl-f, Ctrl-e, etc. etc. If I hold Shift, it becomes part of the key combination, and the whole thing does not work... In other words, I am hoping to set some sort of "mark" at a point in the text, *let go of all keys*, move the caret to another place, then enter a command that will select everthing in between. I hope this clarifies my question, again sorry I wan't as clear before... Thanks! On 17 August 2012 16:41, Dale Anson <da...@gr...> wrote: > Hold the shift key while you move the caret.
