Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Jarek Czekalski (jarekczek) Assigned to: Artem Bryantsev (synh) Summary: Console wrong LF after running a command to buffer (Windows) Initial Comment: After running a command into a buffer, like "dir", I get a malformed buffer, where line endings are not \n, but probably dos-like 2 character endings. This makes a real problem when one for example tries to find a regular "\.pdf\n". The additional unwanted characters are detectable when one goes right or left with a keyboard arrow through line endings. Or they may be located using find "\r" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Alan Ezust (ezust) Date: 2012-05-31 09:40 Message: On windows, my default line separator is dos/windows, and I can see this issue with Console 4.5 Normally, I don't have to space over the \r while I am editing a file in windows, but it seems an extra \r is being inserted into the buffer when I am executing a shell command to the buffer on windows. So basically, console should cut the "\r" from its output. that is the problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Artem Bryantsev (synh) Date: 2012-05-31 09:23 Message: I understand that the problem is the following: - Windows-commands return output liked that "Some string\r\n". - in the Buffer settings can be set to "Unix \n" [Global Options> jEdit> Encoding> Default line separator]. Why Console doesn't cut "\r" from its output? Is it the problem? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jarek Czekalski (jarekczek) Date: 2012-05-30 06:57 Message: Sorry, forgot the environment. Win7 64, trunk jedit, console r21732, java 6. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=565475&aid=3530817&group_id=588 |
