Category: virtual file systems Group: None >Status: Deleted >Resolution: Wont Fix Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Jarek Czekalski (jarekczek) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: FSB should close on doubleclick, if floating Initial Comment: This regards floating File System Browser window. Opened through File System Browser menu item. After doubleclicking a file, the file is opened and browser is still open. But it is put into the background. I think it's wrong. It should either close or stay in foreground. The focus after a doubleclick should go to the text pane. That's consistent with docked FSB behaviour. So what to do with the window? Leaving unfocused window in the foreground seems to be a worse option than closing it. So I suggest to close FSB in this situation. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Alan Ezust (ezust) Date: 2012-05-25 16:11 Message: If someone wants a dialog with the behavior you describe, he should use "file - open" instead of "utilities - file system browser". Why do you want to change how the floating dockable works when we already have a dialog for that? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jarek Czekalski (jarekczek) Date: 2012-05-25 12:35 Message: Alan, could you precise what you expect from this ticket? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Alan Ezust (ezust) Date: 2012-05-25 07:06 Message: I disagree with this suggestion. FSB has a "dialog" mode which does behave this way (correctly). And I also think the current floating dockable FSB (which I almost never use) should behave the way it is. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jarek Czekalski (jarekczek) Date: 2012-05-25 07:06 Message: I see. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Matthieu Casanova (kpouer) Date: 2012-05-25 06:45 Message: If you close that window when double clicking, what is the difference with an Open File Dialog ? Some people like floating windows instead of docked windows (just like the Gimp user interface). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100588&aid=3524654&group_id=588 |
