Category: editor core Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Sylvain Hallé (sylvainjambon) >Assigned to: Shlomy Reinstein (shlomy) Summary: Wrong mode detection on drag and drop from GNOME Commander Initial Comment: Under Ubuntu 11.04, with jEdit 4.4.1 Problem 1 1. Open jEdit 2. With GNOME Commander as the external file manager, drag some file into the jEdit text area 3. Problem: the file is correctly opened and displayed by jEdit, BUT no matter the file, the auto-detected syntax mode is "text". This bug does not occur when using the Nautilus file manager that ships with Ubuntu, instead of GNOME Commander. Problem 2 4. Close the file. 5. Re-open it by selecting it in the "Recent files" menu 6. Problem: the file is again reopened in the "text" mode. It looks like jEdit does not reapply its mode detection for files loaded from the Recent list, but rather fetches them from some "cache". Since the file has been detected in the wrong mode when opened the first time, this wrong mode persists when re-opening it. The only way for jEdit to load the file and detect its mode correctly is to close it, and re-open it either with the File/Open menu, or by dragging it from the Nautilus file manager. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100588&aid=3374207&group_id=588 |
