there are other PDF readers that allow you to view the documents and not exit/re-run if the documents are rebuilt. The reader simply re-loads the document and tries to put you where you were last time. On windows, there is sumatraPDF. On linux, there is okular. I'd recommend one of those instead of acrobat while developing latex.
