Would one > of you add a feature request in the tracker for this? My original complaint was that find and replace are two different functions that share the same find history. So if e.g. if you search for "the" in one file, then later open another file and hit "replace all", it'll delete all the's (replace the last search pattern: "the" with the last replace pattern: nothing). Add the interface where you have to watch the status bar closely to maybe get some feedback -- whereas everybody else pops up a dialog "X replacements made" and leaves cursor on the last replaced substring. Often highlighted, too. Of course, changing the whole search and replace interface to match my expectations would also mean jedit users have forget everything they know and learn the new interface.
