Initial Comment:
Sometimes, when a range of text is selected (single range selection mode), the 'Find' button in the Search & Replace dialog is disabled, so I cannot search the selection. The button becomes enabled when I switch to buffer search (instead of selection search).
Attached a screenshot that shows this.
