Hello, After upgrading my various jEdit installs on several machine I'm finding that the FirstMate plugin found at http://www.rutherfurd.net/jedit/plugins/firstmate/ no longer loads. I get a "Cannot start: java.lang.UnsupportedClass VersionError: Bad version number in .class file. Try updating to a newer version of the plugin." I'm using version 0.3.1 from that site which although over a year old seems to be the latest. I sort of remember running across this problem once before with a previous version of jEdit a while back but after searching google I am unable to find the solution that fixed it for me, also it fails to be retrievable from my brain. Anyone else using this plugin with the latest version? I'm having the problem on os X version 10.5.7 and have tried both 1.5 32-bit and 1.6 64-bit versions of java. Or, if anyone knows of another plugin that provides this sort of functionality, auto completing brackets and quotes and such please feel free to suggest away! I'm amazed how short of a period of time it has taken to become addicted to the auto-completion of these characters or when hitting a quote or bracket key after selecting some text and having it encase that text with said quote or bracket keys. I'm generating syntax errors all over the place now... or selecting text in emails and expecting the same behavior. I don't need a plugin for that (the email application), though I wouldn't be opposed to one that was OS wide I guess, as long as it works in jEdit too. "help! |
