Category: text area and syntax packages Group: normal bug >Status: Closed >Resolution: Fixed Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Derek Groothuis (dgroo) >Assigned to: Dale Anson (daleanson) Summary: Syntax Highlighting doesn't ignore comments and strings Initial Comment: Howdy, There is a small but annoying bug in the syntax highlighting (which manifests most obviously in JSPs). I'm not sure it can even easily be fixed, but if it could, that would be lovely. Take the following code: <p> <% if (something) { %> Some Text <% } // end if %> </p> The line comment embedded within the chunk of Java code causes jEdit to think that the rest of that line is a comment, including the %>, so it doesn't think that the code block ever completes (and the rest of the page, or a fair chunk of it) is then highlighted as if it is java code. Don't know if it is fixable in a general way, but it would certainly be nice. (As an aside - if there was any way to change background colord on 'sub-language highlighting' (i.e., to make the java code have a slightly shaded background, or whatever) that would also be exceptionally useful.) Thanks... --Derek ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Dale Anson (daleanson) Date: 2008-11-15 22:59 Message: Fixed, revision 14047. It was taken at svn trunk r10474 with "-nosettings" option. The ">" that follows the "// end if %" is colored differently than the comment. Am I missing something? Maybe I didn't understand the problem? You can reopen the bug if you can reproduce it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Kazutoshi Satoda (k_satoda) Date: 2007-09-09 17:25 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1483238 Originator: NO Ah, the original problem was reported to jsp mode. I can reproduce it in jsp mode too. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Kazutoshi Satoda (k_satoda) Date: 2007-09-09 17:20 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1483238 Originator: NO What mode did you try? I can reproduce the problem in php mode at svn trunk r10474. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Shlomy Reinstein (shlomy) Date: 2007-09-09 15:37 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1477607 Originator: NO This bug is VERY old, and I cannot reproduce it with jEdit 4.3pre11 - the > after the comment is colored differently than the comment. Does this bug still exist? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100588&aid=846913&group_id=588 |
