Category: None Group: None >Status: Closed Resolution: Invalid Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Uwe (donovaly) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: duplicate shortcuts for C-period and C-comma Initial Comment: I often need the actions "Go to next/previous marker" But its shortcut C-period and C-comma is the same as for the search bar. Thus I cannot use these shortcuts. Please bind "Go to next/previous marker" to another shortcut. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Alan Ezust (ezust) Date: 2008-09-30 16:34 Message: I am closing this tracker item. you can bind any action to any keyboard shortcut sequence you want. I've personally gotten rid of all Ctrl-E prefixed shortcuts since I use Ctrl-E to mean "go to end of line". I don't see where the bug is. There is only one shortcut bound for each action. You can unbind it and make it something else. If it were up to me, I'd remove all Ctrl-E shortcuts entirely, but then I'd have to update the docs too. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Uwe (donovaly) Date: 2008-09-30 16:20 Message: > For going to the next marker You can use shortcuts as mentioned by > stone1343 or: > - press "CTRL" > - press and release "e" > - press and release "PERIOD" > - release "CTRL" I understood that but, pressing 4 keys where you need both hands for it is very inconvenient. Why not binding it to Ctrl+> / Ctrl+< or similar. When you don't want this, please close this bug. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Robert Schwenn (rschwenn) Date: 2008-09-30 09:29 Message: Yes, "C+PERIOD" is a quite different shortcut than "C+e C+PERIOD". For going to the next marker You can use shortcuts as mentioned by stone1343 or: - press "CTRL" - press and release "e" - press and release "PERIOD" - release "CTRL" ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: stone1343 (stone1343) Date: 2008-09-27 17:57 Message: I think you're using the wrong shortcuts for Goto next/previous marker, they use the 2-key shortcuts C+e C+period and C+e C+comma. You type Ctrl-E then Ctrl-, You can re-assign them yourself to anything you want, but I think these work as intended. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Uwe (donovaly) Date: 2008-09-27 11:02 Message: You misunderstood me. The defaults are these indeed: prev-marker.shortcut=C+e C+COMMA next-marker.shortcut=C+e C+PERIOD but also these: Incremental search bar C+COMMA HyperSearch bar C-PERIOD SO every time I use C-PERIOD I get the search bar and not the marker. It only works when I use C+e and then C+PERIOD, but that would mean I have to use for every goto action two shortcuts and need both C keys as the e and the PERIOD are too far away on the keyboard. This makes the shortcuts unuseful - I'm then faster in clicking the menu. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Alan Ezust (ezust) Date: 2008-09-27 10:46 Message: Those are not the default shortcuts, someone must have set them that way in your particular settings. The defaults are these: prev-marker.shortcut=C+e C+COMMA next-marker.shortcut=C+e C+PERIOD You can rebind them from the shortcuts option pane, or just remove the lines from your .jedit/properties file ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100588&aid=2131159&group_id=588 |
