Category: keyboard / mouse Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Randall R. Schulz (rrschulz) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Right Clicks and Mouse-Downs Alter Selection Initial Comment: A right mouse-down or click, which activates the context, also alters the buffer selection just as a left click does, with one exception, which is that a right click inside the selection will not make the selection an insertion point as it activates the context menu. In particular, if one uses a mouse-down (and hold, not a click) to activate the context menu and then drags the mouse to the desired context menu entry, the selection will be destroyed, since it begins to follow the mouse pointer. Right mouse-down or click should only activate the context menu and should not affect the selection in any way. I just bought a very sensitive mouse, and it is now almost impossible to select text, then copy it via the right mouse button menu without losing the selection before I can click on "copy". ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100588&aid=1589987&group_id=588 |
