Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: goebbe (goebbe) Assigned to: Dale Anson (daleanson) Summary: Jdiff 1.7.0 including empty line when mooving diff Initial Comment: Using Jdiff 1.7.0 on WinXP with Java 1.6.? I have the following problem: "Moving a diff" adds an empty line after each line which has been moved. Steps to reproduce: 1. Make a dual diff 2. Use either the small triangle or the "Moove diff to the right" button from the Jdiff-window to move text e.g. from the left to the right. Everything looks all-right, at this point. 3. Save the changed file. 4. Reload the changed file 5. Result: Now, after each line of the moved diff there is an empyt line included. Additional info which is perhaps related: a) I use win-1252 encoding with both files and b) I use the Windows line separator ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: goebbe (goebbe) Date: 2008-02-20 11:05 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1050273 Originator: YES File Added: screen_before_move_diff.PNG ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: goebbe (goebbe) Date: 2008-02-20 11:04 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1050273 Originator: YES I just downloaded the jar of the upcoming version of the Jdiff-plugin (future 1.8.) for the purpose of testing. The reported bug is still present on my system. (Therefore I reopen the bug) I also tested this on different computers both WinXP and Linux and the problem is present on all my systems. Could the problem be caused by some special setting or other plugins that I have installed? I attach some screen shots which illustrate the problem. Really wonder why I can reproduce on different computer while you can not? Hmmm. If I can do anything to help to hunt the bug down, please let me know. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Dale Anson (daleanson) Date: 2008-02-16 05:03 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=187628 Originator: NO I may have fixed this by accident, but I can't reproduce this problem. I tested it today with the 1.8 version (next release, not yet available) on windows XP, Java 1.6, Windows line separator on both files, and did not see any additional lines added with a move either right or left. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: goebbe (goebbe) Date: 2008-02-13 16:18 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1050273 Originator: YES Doing further tests I discovered that the problem dissapeared when setting the line separator to Unix for both files. So the problem seems to be related to the (Windows) line separators. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=565475&aid=1892782&group_id=588 |
