I don't know if it's related but I experienced some weirdness when moving from 4.2 to 4.3pre8. When I would start 4.3pre8 almost everything would be blank but then as I moved the mouse around some things would show up, like the "tab" and down arrow associated with each dock. I ended up moving my old .jedit folder out of the way then reinstalling plugins and resetting my global options.
