Hi Jed, Are you talking about changing the default set of icons? I've JUST written a post about it here: http://bequicker.com/jedit/200611/the-jedit-look/ The reason I mention it is because this example lets you put the icons file into the jars folder, which you can do in your settings directory (and the fact that this came up a couple of days after I wrote the article). And, on that note, is there ANYBODY that would like to share their "best practices" and performance or other tips for jEdit? On the site I just mentioned, I'm trying to help my colleagues at work use jEdit a little better, and, I'd love to hear other people's experiences and tips... There's a contact page link in the top right corner of the page. Screenshots are definitely welcome, though they will have to be mailed. And contributers will obviously get the credit for writing the tip/suggestion... Thanks, James On 11/10/06, Jed <je...@gm...> wrote: > > On that note. > > Is it possible to have different icons also set in the user pref? > > Right now I have to drop the jar into the java path jre/lib/etc/ I > think.... > > Thanks > -Jed > > Slava Pestov wrote: > > You can do this: > > > > jedit -settings=/whatever/directory/you/want/ > > > > As for reinstalling your OS every time it gets "hit", I can't help > > you there. ;) > > > > Slava > > > > On 9-Nov-06, at 7:17 PM, Manoj wrote: > > > > > >> Good to know that. > >> > >> It would be great if while installing it ask for the user > >> directory.
