I believe it's my mistake - I assumed jedit would copy the button pngs to it's own dir but actually jedit expects to find the buttons in the place I decide and if i delete then pngs then they are gone - which is what happened. My mistake but seems OK now. I'm impressed with this editor and am amazed it is "free" some of it's features are found only in commercial editors. Thank you.
