[ jEdit-devel ] Best method getting jEdit to interact with perl-module? Where to start?

Hi,

I will be integrate access to Perl-Module Devel:Refactor supporting
refactoring stuff in jEdit by processing perl-files like EPIC
(http://e-p-i-c.sourceforge.net/) does.

A simple solution to do this is to use the buffer from clipboard, send
it via systemcall to perl-interpreter with perl-module
Devel::Refactor, let process it and return the result to clipboard.

Do you have some hints, which kind of methods will be optimal in case
of KISS and readability? Do I need to write a new plugin, is there
anybody working on it, or there are another ways to get them work?

Where I could find additional information and documentation, what are
the best related entrypoints?
