Hi all, A few months ago I posted an e-mail about setting up a new jEdit core development team. There has been some interest, and now a handful people (most notably Alan Ezust) are hacking on the core jEdit code. Now the next stage would be for a new release to be co-ordinated; jEdit 4.3pre3 is long overdue. Is anybody interested in taking over jEdit release engineering? Basically it involves a few tasks: - ensuring changelog is up to date - ensuring there are no showstopper bugs, and all claimed fixes work - ensuring code compiles, documentation is up to date, documentation compiles (HTML and PDF) - configuring the jEdit installer (this is pretty easy and I'll help people figure out how to work it) - creating the installer and source package and making sure they contain the correct set of files, and that the installer works - uploading packages to SourceForge - updating the web site Slava |
