[ jEdit-users ] Install JEdit OS X issues

All,

I hope this isn't beating a dead horse...

I've tried to install both the stable and development versions of JEdit 
using the Java-based installer and the OS X package.  In both instances 
I get a JEdit window that is unresponsive and a JEdit menu option.

Additionally, when I use the Java-Based installer I get a plugin error 
for MacOS.jar : try updating to a newer version

I'm running Java version 1.4.2_05, and OS X 10.3.8 with all the latest 
updates.

Any ideas would be appreciated...
