Category: None Group: 2005-05-01 Status: Open Priority: 5 Submitted By: copy_paste (copy_paste) Assigned to: Jeffrey Hoyt (jchoyt) Summary: xslt plugin patch for xpath Initial Comment: This patch adds auto-complete or intellisense capability to the XPath 1.0 tool. If the "Use auto complete" checkbox is checked, and the /,[,@ or :: characters are typed into the xpath expression textarea, a popup list is displayed with all the possible valid completions. Press enter or click on one of the completions, and the string is added to the expression. If ESC, backspace, or an arrow key is typed, the popup list goes away without adding to the xpath expression. This patch has only been tested on Windows with a 1.4.2 JRE The attached unified diff was created from the plugins/xslt directory against the HEAD version of the CVS tree.. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: copy_paste (copy_paste) Date: 2005-05-19 16:48 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1277590 Hi Rob, I know of one more feature I really want to add to the XPath 1.0 tool. There's also a few fixes I need to make to this patch. Some of them are due to my ignorance of the plugin API. There are probably cleaner ways to do some of the things I did. Any feedback you have along these lines is greatly appreciated :) I can either commit my changes directly or email them to you. Whichever you feel most comfortable with is fine. While I've had quite a bit of experience with CVS professionally, I've never had CVS access to an open source project before, so I don't really know the proper etiquette. Should I notify you when I commit changes? Your earlier mail didn't get through to me via my sourceforge address; I think there's been problems at sourceforge's end as some of my posts to the jedit lists have also not been getting through. I'll have a look at your patch. Is this a one off change, or do you want to do more work on jEdit plugins? If you are going to do more, we can give you CVS access. It seems like the area I submitted it to was for new plugins only, and there isn't a patch submission page for the core jedit project. I looked on plugins.jedit.org to see if there was a process in place to submit patches for existing plugins but couldn't find one. Finally, I decided to submit it here and send the authors a notification email. I got addresses for them at http://plugins.jedit.org/plugins/?XSLT. As of now, I haven't heard from either author but I only sent the message when I submitted the patch so they may not have even seen it yet. Honestly, I wasn't expecting someone to try and apply it right away. I have no problem committing the patch myself but I doubt my anonymous login has the privleges to do it. I guess I'll wait a week or so the hear from someone and get back to you if I don't . Feel free to try and contact them yourself. Thanks, Scott ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jeffrey Hoyt (jchoyt) Date: 2005-05-18 21:49 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=396194 Have you talked with the author/current maintainer? If there is none, you may have just volunteered and you should go ahead and make the changes yourself. I hesitate to check in these changes unless you've done due diligence in tracking down the author.
