Agreed. Things have definitely gotten better through time, and I think 
that most developers do strive to properly "fit in" to the 
platform/environment their application will be running on/in. jEdit is a 
great example with the additional Mac OS X bits that help it be a little 
more "Mac-like" than many Java apps out there...
