Summary: Problem with single and double quotes

Initial Comment:
I'm using Conectiva Linux 6.0, Jedit 3.0.2, jre 1.3, and us_intl keyboard. I can't use quotes. I can use ü and accents, but no quotes... I tried a .Xmodmap suggested by someone in user-list, but didnt work too.

Hi,

   its a jre 1.3 bug plz refer to java.sun.com. If you
update to jdk1.4.1 it doesn't happen (at least with redhat) :-)

Utilities-->touble shooting--> keyboard Testing (press quotes)

I have the same problem. I'm using Conectiva Linux 6.0, Jedit 3.0.2, IBM jdk 1.3, and us_intl keyboard.
I can use ü á à ê ã and others normally, this keys are a combination of (" + u = ü), (' + a = á), etc.
When I need to use quotes, normally I press " + spacebar, but its not works.
