[ jEdit-users ] How to wrap at a specific column?

Using text mode, jEdit 4.2pre1, on Deb sid.

How can I force jEdit to wrap at a specific column? (Something 
like set-fill-column in Emacs?)

Chinese or Japanese text does not delineate 'words' with spaces 
so word wrap doesn't seem to do the job here.

I think it relates to this from a message I found in the archives:

But I'm a translator (Chinese to English, Japanese to English), 
not a programmer, and so far this is the only show-stopper I've 
found trying to use jEdit in my professional CE or JE 
translation work.
