Hi Chuck, thanks for your quick reply. > > I use Mac OS X, 10.2.4. on a PowerBook. I have no problem at all with > return keys. Keyboard tester shows ENTER. me too, I'm on a G3 Pismo ( USB keyboard / external ). My keyboardtester in the Menusection Troubleshooting/Keyboardtester shows nothing when return is pressed, BUT ironically in GeneralOptions/Shortcuts it does ok. I'm able to associate the action "insert newline and indent" with the ENTER-Key, but it does nothing in a textbuffer-window. I found out that in Quicknotepad everything works fine. > Never used a Java DevPack though. I used DP10 ,but I don't think that it is the cause of this problem. I've thrown away all jEdit Preferences,PlugIns whatsoever then reinstalled the 10.2.4 Upgrade and end up with a jEdit that is faster than ever before ( Congratulations to Slave and maybe Apple too ). I believe that it has something to do with keyboard layouts, internationalization-setting at a place somewhere invible to me. E.g. the keyboard layout is US though all my OS settings are for german language. Meta-z is exchanged with Meta-y and so on. If anybody has an idea where to set this information ( jEdit / Java-VM / elsewhere ) I'd like to learn how this can be done. > |
