Just a note on English language: saying something is bastardized says nothing about the whether or not its creator is a bastard. The word implies simply a sub-standard, inferior form. Also, a note on people skills: I think everyone will find that if you criticize behavior you find annoying rather than the people behaving in a certain way, they are much more likely to take your criticism to heart rather than just bristle and criticize you back. Saying "I'd really appreciate it if you would take the extra 3 seconds to type full English words rather than non-standard abbreviations that force me to think harder than I should have to" would have perhaps been the better way to start this discussion. That does not excuse the "If you weren't such an ignorant newbie, you wouldn't have a problem with it" response. Rather than taking out latent frustrations on other list members, maybe people should instead abuse their families. That's what they're there for. :-) Todd |
