PEACE>>>>As you've probab= ly figured out by now, it sounds as if your jar files >>no lo= nger have the JRE associated as their default handler. I've had >&am= p;gt;this happen periodically for various reasons. Reinstalling the &gt= ;>JDK/JRE should fix it, but so will manually creating the Windows F= ile >>Type association. Use the command javaw -jar %1 - or yo= u can fully >>qualify the javaw command if you want to specif= y a particular JDK/JRE.>>>Doug, Traycho,>&g= t;There's another option if you want the default association for JAR &g= t;files to be opening WinZip (say) but still want a convenient way to &= gt;launch executable JARs.>>Windows 2K and later remember all= the applications you ever used to >override default associations (b= y using the Open with... command in >the context menu) and adds a Op= en with > sub-menu to the context >menu. So after the >first time you do Open wit= h... and choose javaw you have a >convenient shortcut to lauching ex= ecutable JAR files in the future.>>>Randall Schulz &am= p;gt;The problem in this case isn't the association.
