There is a function in Vimulator to do this. The code is in
vimulator.VimulatorUtilities.joinLines(). I don't think it would be hard
to turn it into a macro.

In other Vimulator news, I have someone at work who may be interested in
collaborating with me on Vimulator, so hopefully I'll have a
much-improved new release within the next few weeks.
