Well I don't suppose that is would be hard for someone who reports an issue on JET to close the .exe version and start the .jar version and see if it is possible to reproduce there. If not then it must be a JET issue. JET guarentees that they are 100% compatable. If they cannot live up to that then of course jEdit cannot be asked to support them. If jEdit could run a good deal faster and maybe not even require a JRE download surely it would be a lot more attractive to many windows users. I for one, have talked to many that didn't even wanted to give jEdit a chance because of the JRE download. I have also talked to some who abandoned it after finding it too slow. These are real issues for a lot of potential users. And I don't see anything wrong in getting many happy jEdit users. /Lasse |
