Not trying to bring up a thread that was discussed in length a while ago, but since it's related to this question, the thing I think JEdit really needs is better integration between the following plugins: JCompiler, Project or Session Plugin, SpeedJava What I mean by better integration is there should be a way to set up a session which could have a set of classpaths that speedJava could use for code completion and also JCompiler could use for compiling. Plus compiling to particular directories based on a Session name or project name. (I'm not talking about creating a project like Eclipse or JDeveloper..I hate the way they do it..just a project based on "Ok these files or directories belong to what I'm calling project XXX". I know plenty of work arounds have been presented and I also know (and use) Ant to perform a lot of this, but a newcomer to JEdit shouldn't have to know how to write Ant scripts in order to compile things to correct directories or have to write a macro to do it. And SpeedJava is a great plugin (a must have in my opinion for Java) yet it needs to have auto completion of methods based on classpaths without having to add all of them to the classpath option in the options or your system's path. I know, I know...well fix it yourself:) The thing is the system I've worked out now is fine so I'm being lazy and selfish. Just saying to put JEdit over the top the above features should be addressed. -- Rick mailto:mai...@re... |
