Summary: long startup delay

Initial Comment:
System: Windows 2000
jEdit version: 3.2.2
JDK version: 1.3.1

When launching jedit from either a command line or 
from the jEdit desktop shortcut, the initial splash 
screen stops at 50% for approximately 3-4 minutes. 
After this, jEdit will finally open an edit window and 
appears to work normally.

If you have the BufferList plugin installed, please uncheck 
the option "Check status of recent files" in the 
BufferList's Global Option Dialog.

If that helps, please don't forget to close this bug.

What plugins do you have installed? I've noticed that the 
Project Viewer plugin takes forever to start when managing 
multiple large projects.
