Hi all, a question to all the users of JIndex out there: Does anybody of you use http URLs for the documentation locations in the JIndex option pane, or are all your documentations on a local filesystem (ie. file URLs)=3F I'm asking because if nobody uses http URLs, then the JIndex database is unnecessary. JIndex could simply search the filesystems for the proper API documentations. No need to load a ~6 MB index file at startup. PS: Alexander Hvostov suggested, that the format of the index file could be changed (the current format is a single large XML document) to speed up the load time, but IMHO having no index at all would be even better, because obsoletes the task of updating the index from time to time. What do you think=3F Dirk. |
