In addition, the buffer takes ages to be rendered. 

Subseqently opened buffers are not always shown correctly, or at all, and
it is possible for the VFS browser to show that three buffers are open,
although BufferTabs only shows two. This behaviour continues until JEdit
becomes unusable.

I am using jedit 3.0final, buffertabs 0.6.1 and ibmj1.3 on Linux.

I have confirmed this is also a problems on other platforms. I tested it
on
win98 with the sun1.3 jdk.
