There are only two places where that message can come from, one for regular
printing and one for the print preview. The one for regular printing should
have printed a stack trace to the Activity Log. Do you see one? If so,
would you send it to me?

Running JEdit 5.5.0 on Windows 10, I have two printers. One is currently 
low in one of its toner cartridges, but can still print, while the other 
is fine. When I try to Print in JEdit I get:

"An error occurred while trying to print. Invalid print service."

and JEdit can not print my current file. The printing function had 
always been working before so I do not know why it has stopped working. 
I suspect it is simply because of the low toner cartridge, but I have 
changed nothing in JEdit to keep it from working.

I have experience with Nuance Dragon for dictating long passages of text.
It is very accurate, learns your voice over time and has numerous features
... and priced accordingly. There is a minor irritation in that it doesn't
actually "support" jEdit. For software that it doesn't support, a
"dictation box" pops up when you begin to speak, and every so often you
transfer the contents (ctrl-T) to the jEdit buffer.

Voice Typing is typically provided by the operating system as an input
method, so it can be used in any application.
There is no reason to write a jedit-specific plugin for that.

The reason for that is that I need to translate text.
I am going to  translate the given text in the right window and write 
the translated text to  the left windows. That way I can have ( more or 
less) the same lines- formating in the translated text like original)

Development has recently picked up, and a bunch of bugs were recently
fixed. I suspect we will be releasing a newer jEdit before the end of the
year.
Daily builds are currently down, my jenkins server is gone.

I wonder whether the jEdit project has died, because

- I don't get any response on any of the postings I wrote in the past months in the forum,

- The bug report i sent to the jedit-users lists now waits already 10 days for moderator approval, i.e. it is neither approved nor rejected,

- The community page on http://community.jedit.org/modules.php?op=modload&name=faq&file=index shows only a white page under Firefox, no information, so it probably isn't be maintained either.

In the Library/jEdit folder, you will find the "properties" file, where all
plugins and jEdit store properties, as well as the "plugins/ftp.FtpPlugin"
directory is where the FTP plugin stores its data. You can see the
properties file in a regular text editor and remove the lines in it that
are no longer relevant.

I'm a long time Jedit user, and recently I've seen an issue connecting to a
remote linux server from my OS X system. Instead of connecting to the IP
I've specified, it's connecting to a different IP, one I've used in the
past. I don't seem to be able to wipe Jedit's memory in the correct place to
fix this. I have trashed the preferences in Library, but there must be
something else I'm not aware of.Any help would be appreciated. I really
prefer Jedit's JDiff over anything else I've used.Thanks,-Kirk

[ jEdit-users ] Dragon Naturally Speaking with jedit

I am trying to use DNS with jedit. DNS doesn't work natively with jedit;
instead it pops up a "Dictation Box", into which you dictate text that can
the pasted into jedit by pressing ctrl-T. On my office computer it works,
but on my laptop, jedit simply freezes: I can't close the dictation box nor
can I close jedit. I have to go to the task manager and kill it. Any
ideas?!

Ideally it should be the author of the scalac plugin.
However, in cases where the original author can not be reached, anyone who
has previously committed to plugin or core on sf.net can find the original
repository, and import the scalac plugin into git on sf.net, and then
rebuild, test, tag, and post a release announcement.
