Hi all, I agree that there are many questions here (Git, Github, github actions) and would strongly argue in favor of all of them, in particular the move to github. i do suppose a read-only GitHub mirror accomplishes a lot of what you get out of github anyways. if the "git" direction is decided on, i can volunteer to help work on that - but would not want to decide for the group about other hosting. Björn: ultimately sounds like you have a handle on things but I'm available to tinker/iterate on things - if it helps, lmk best, David On Mon, Jun 12, 2023 at 5:45 AM Vampire <Va...@je...> wrote: > Hi again > > Forgot to say, whether we "move" to GitHub or just mirror the code is a > completely different discussion. > While many projects went away from SourceForge, this is not really > mandatory. > SourceForge is not dead to my knowledge and also provides much more > possibilities and flexibility. > For example, for the things already in Git repositories we have our own > Git hooks running on the SourceForge repos that are not possible on GitHub > and so on. > > Regards > Björn > > Am Mo., 12. Hi folks, I would like to create an official home for this project on github, resume publishing versions of the library (or reusable pieces?) to maven central - i believe this would be beneficial to both users and developers as it would encourage people to view the project as living rather than dead and unmaintained. its sort of an inevitable association with source forge. if anyone is interested in making this a reality, let me know. best, David |

Hi I had this issue when I had a file permissions issue or an incorrect directory setup (sorry, I can't remember which one it ended up being). I had the issue because I was copying an old installation to a new laptop but the structure had changed. Just thought I'd mention in case it gives you an idea of where to look. thanks On Mon, Jun 12, 2023 at 4:57 AM Jon Blanchard via jEdit-users < jed...@li...> wrote: > AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 2700U > 24.0 GB (22.9 GB usable) > Windows 10 Pro version 22H2 build 19045.2965 > > I tried every mirror site listed in the app to download available > plug-ins, but every site returned multiple instances of the following alert: > > [image: Inline image] > > Is a correctly working mirror site available or is there something on my > laptop that I need to investigate? > > Thanks in advance for your response. > > EP Delta > -- > ----------------------------------------------- > jEdit Users' List > jEd...@li... > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/jedit-users > |

The fortran mode file defines literals like this: <SPAN TYPE="LITERAL1" NO_LINE_BREAK="FALSE"> <BEGIN>"</BEGIN> <END>"</END> </SPAN> <SPAN TYPE="LITERAL1" NO_LINE_BREAK="FALSE"> <BEGIN>'</BEGIN> <END>'</END> </SPAN> Is that what you're looking for? Hello, How would I code the rule for a literal that uses, instead of a backslash, a doubled string delimiter to escape it when embedded in a string? Hi Dale, thanks your your reply. Yes, i do: ``` JAVA_HOME=/Users/polmos/.sdkman/candidates/java/current ``` however, i suspect that the macos app bundle ignores JAVA_HOME and uses the system java. I want to specify a custom jvm (provided by sdkman) to run jEdit on MacOS Monterey In my .bash_profile file I have the custom jvm in my PATH, but when I launch the app, I get a message from the app saying that java 11 or higher is required. How do I tell the jEdit app to use a custom jvm in macos? Thanks, Pablo |

I have tried, and looked, and read, with no luck. Anybody successfully doing a git rebase -i in Windows using jEdit? How do you have your git configure core.editor set? It's just giving me errors about being unable to find work files in the .git subdirectories.Yes, I know part of the answer may be specifying -noserver as one argument, but I cannot get the syntax correct on Windows to specify that and have things work. Hi everyone I’m using jEdit (5.6.0) on my Mac, as I have been doing for some time, but for some reason in the last few weeks: open -a /Applications/jEdit.app myFile.txt does not open myFile.txt, just a blank jEdit window. This may be since upgrading to MacOS 12.5 (from 12.4) although I’m not 100% sure. Is anyone else seeing this? For extra context, I have to hack to use jEdit at all (someone on this mailing list helped me with this a few years ago) because just starting up jEdit tries to use some ancient java version and it fails. So instead I have had to use a script to find the correct java and invoke things, and then I have to compile that with shc so that MacOS will set the security settings so I can actually open files (seriously….). I don’t know whether this is the problem. If anyone knows a solution to this, or a better (i.e. simpler) way to make jEdit “just work” on MacOS, please let me know! Hi, I often open files in a directory which is a git repo. When I switch git branches, some files may no longer exist as files in the file system; jedit would show such files as out of date (marked red). Is there a jedit command or plugin that allows me to close such files? Thanks |

The solution mentioned here: https://sourceforge.net/p/jedit/bugs/4084/ has worked for several other people. It's a bug in the windows launcher. Another solution is to start jEdit from a command line with "java -jar /path/to/jedit.jar". How are you starting jEdit? Java 17 should work fine, I've been running jEdit with Java 18 for several months now with no problems. I installed jEdit 5.6 on a x64 Win8.1 system. I get an error that a JRE of 11 is required. I have Microsoft's build of OpenJDK 17.0.3 which should more than fulfill the requirement. Is it possible to get jEdit to run? ' -- 「女のこが天使じゃない 魔物が半分FIFTY」 ジャングルはいつもハレのちグゥ |

I'm having a bitch of a time from this favourite editor of mine. One beanshell issue after another. Does anyone have a C-mode.xml file that actually works and are willing to share? I'm NOT a pro! Just a retired, hobbyist amateur trying to keep busy learning a new programming language. TIA! -- Duke ** Text only please. Bottom post works best for me ** |

I'm wondering if anyone is actually using the log4j that is included with the jakarta-commons plugin? I was thinking of updating the log4j jar file to the latest version due to the recently discovered security vulnerabilities, but the version in the plugin is very old and in fact reached end of life 7 years ago. |

Just in case someone runs jEdit under Crostini (ChromeOS Linux container) and finds graphical performance to be poor: By changing the Text Area antialiasing mode from "standard" to any of the subpixel values, performance is increased *significantly. *Why this is, I don't know, but it's worked for me across all my Chromebooks.
