The jedit installer and launcher does not recognize java10 on Windows 10 x64. It prompts me to install Java 8 instead. Java 8 is out of date very soon, so it doesn't make sense to install it. Java 10 does work with the jar based jedit.

The work-around is to use the java-based installer. I've run it
successfully with java 4 through 11. I'd even suggest using the java-based
installer from the daily builds, it's quite stable and includes a few
recent bug fixes:

JDK11 is the latest General Release now, and JDK 12 will be released in March.
Last edit: Gatak 2019-01-11

Is there a workaround for this?
thanks

#4072As I clicked send I knew that would be the workaround.
Unfortunately, I'm looking for a workaround to get the jedit.exe to work,
so the "right click to open in jEdit" functionality works.
Unless there's functionality I've completely overlooked in the java based
installer?
