Thank you for your reply. We are actually an OEM integrator. We purchase
ATCA processors, switches, and carriers, integrate them with other items.
That is why it is feasible for us (in our opinion) to access the PRODUCT
INFORMATION AREA as to the BOARD INFORMATION AREA

For example, we have AMC storage blade using AMC carrier from Kontron and
AMC SSDs from GEFanuc, all the information in the "BOARD INFORMATION AREA"
for the AMCs and Carrier would stay the same, but at the assembly level, we
would like to Modify the Carrier's PRODUCT INFORMATION AREA to characterize
our assembly level details (see below for example)


PRODUCT INFORMATION AREA

Product Name                   : AMC Storage Blade Assembly
Product Part/Model Number      : AMC-SDD-1033
Product Version Number         : FW 3.0
Product Serial Number          : 231231312
Asset Tag                      : 2010-03-10

By doing so, our factory can have better control of our assembly level
products.
