New version 1.6.4 crashes with ADF scan on Canon MF734Cdw (crash log attached).

Steps taken:

  1. Unpack portable.
  2. Select scanner.
  3. Tick Use Document Feeder (ADF).
  4. Click Scan and iCopy crashes.

Flatbed scan is working with Canon MF734Cdw however. No problem observed with both flatbed or ADF scans on Canon MF4580dn.

Is this a regression? Did you experience the bug with the previous version?

    1.6.3 was working.

    Forgot to mention:
    Windows 10 Build 1803 Verison 17134.167
The lastest driver V5.401 from Canon site

Checked once again: 1.6.4 crashes, 1.6.3 working.

I think I found the problem. I'm attaching a fixed version. Please tell me if you still experience the crash.

Version 1.6.4 more likely crash the same way on Canon P-215II (mobile document scanner). Crash log "crash_164_P-215II.txt" attached for further checking (noted that one assembly changes its name in the crash log from crash to crash: CodeBase: file:///C:/WINDOWS/assembly/GAC_MSIL/System/2.0.0.0__b77a5c561934e089/System.dll).

    Steps to reproduce on 1.6.4:

    1. Unpack iCopy portable 1.6.4 and run it (Colors; A4).
    2. Select scanner P-215II.
    3. Click Scan.
    4. iCopy crashes (Use ADF set to disabled or enabled + Duplex on/off makes no difference = always crashes).

This particular crash seems fixed in 1.6.5 for Canon P-215II aswell like for MF734Cdw, however 1.6.5 have another issue with duplex scans (otherwise works ok with duplex disabled). Crash log "crash_165_P-215II.txt" attached. Not tested duplex scans on Canon MF734Cdw yet.

Steps to reproduce on 1.6.5 :

    1. Unpack iCopy portable 1.6.5 and run it (Colors; A4).
    2. Select scanner P-215II.
    3. Tick Use Document Feeder (ADF) and tick Duplex acquisition.
    4. Click Scan.
    5. iCopy crashes.

Another problem on Canon P-215II is "Text - Black & White - A4" scans seems not supported. It will require an additional investigation, however quick test show that "Yor scanner doesn't seem to support this scan intent. iCopy will use the default intent." window appears (NOTE: Seems typo correction required in warning message text - "Yor"). iCopy make scan as "Grayscale - Black & White - A4" and throw the same warning window once again right after scan completion.

Can you confirm if both the duplex scan problem and the black and white problems are regressions, i.e. try again with 1.6.3?

Thank you very much for your help.

Duplex issue is slightly different in 1.6.3 than it was in 1.6.4 or 1.6.5 on Canon P-215II, but crashes anyway with crash log attached (seems the same as described earlier here: https://sourceforge.net/p/icopy/bugs/320/)

"Text - Black & White - A4" combo (or any "Text - Black & White - ANY SIZE" tested) do not work in 1.6.3 on Canon P-215II the same way as failed earlier in 1.6.5 (result - "Grayscale - Black & White" scans).

Duplex scans crash 1.6.5 on Canon MF734Cdw. Crash log "crash_165_MF734Cdw" attached.

Steps to reproduce on 1.6.5 :

    1. Unpack iCopy portable 1.6.5 and run it (Colors; A4).
    2. Select scanner Canon MF734Cdw.
    3. Tick Use Document Feeder (ADF) and tick Duplex acquisition.
    4. Click Scan.
    5. iCopy crashes.

Duplex issue is slightly different in 1.6.3 than in 1.6.5 on Canon MF734Cdw, but do not work correctly (iCopy.log attached).

    Steps taken on 1.6.3 :

    1. Unpack iCopy portable 1.6.3 and run it (Colors; A4).
    2. Select scanner Canon MF734Cdw.
    3. Tick Use Document Feeder (ADF) and tick Duplex acquisition.
    4. Click Scan.
    5. It is scanning one side only then scanner report by beep that job completed, however iCopy stuck on second "Acquiring data" window (Cancel turn its status to Waiting..., but seems such waiting status lasts forever so closing iCopy by Task Manager.

Canon MF4580dn do not have a duplex related issues in both 1.6.3 and 1.6.5. All works ok.
