#27 Unable to restore ownerships

First, thank you for making this product available. I fell in love with XEDIT many years ago.

I'm running "THE 3.3B4 15-November-2008" on Ubuntu 12.04 and I get "Unable to restore ownerships" on the message line when I save a change. The file owner is root, but my login is in the group allowing me to edit this file. I get no errors using VIM to make the same change.

Please let me know if you need any additional information.
